Complete Financial Balance is on a journey of growth and is looking into an exciting and invigorated future. As CFB has grown and evolved, we’ve developed and exemplified corporate values that unite the team through an overarching responsibility to serve our clients, making it the benchmark for everything we do as an organisation. It’s who we are; not just as employees but as people.
At CFB, our vision is simple: “we aim to be the most respected advisory group in our industry”. Such a vision must be supported by a clear roadmap that sets CFB’s tone by projecting a vision and establishing the foundation to build on to reach our destination; a pathway that clients, employees, and business partners can follow together. This ensures that those who walk this path experience the professionalism of Complete Financial Balance, as underpinned by our corporate values.
What is Culture?
The ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society
Culture is the way organisations work. It’s how they accomplish their objectives and the environment in which people work. It’s the company value – its code of conduct. Its how an organisation works together to achieve its mission and goals. At CFB, our approach to cultivating culture incorporates values, action statements, leadership responsibility at the individual level and understanding that advice is a TEAM sport.
What is CFB’s Culture?
Supporting our organisational vision are CARE values that inform our decision-making cycles, guide our daily interactions and staff interaction with, and for, our clients.

These four tenets are the framework of the CFB culture and encourage the whole team to pursue the solution that is in the best interest of our clients because we do CARE. Creating these values was a collective team effort that included company-wide and employee-led discussions and open feedback forums. Because of this comprehensive process, everyone at CFB can confidently stand by these values and commit to following them both in our internal operations and our external interactions with clients and the wider community. An organisation-wide CARE Values Statement was created by the team, and provides clear definitions that reflect what we believe is the best possible practice by a CFB team member. The Paraplanning, CSO and Support Staff teams also created personalised CARE value reflections of the ins-and-outs of their varying roles. The “I am a CSO because I CARE…” statements aim to identify the day-to-day actions carried out by each CFB team that continuously reflect each of the CARE values (Client-Centric, Adaptive, Reliable and Energetic).

There is no doubt that having these values is of vital importance to unify the CFB team, however the next step in embedding CARE into the CFB culture is to ensure we keep them alive and affirmed on a daily basis amongst our team of Paraplanners, Client Support Officers, Advisers and Support Staff. At the beginning of each month, CFB holds a working lunch to discuss and analyse our actions and achievement from the previous month. To start off each meeting, our General Manager read out each of the CARE Award Nominations collected throughout the month. The CFB team member who receives the most nominations wins the Agro Doll CARE Award for the employee of the month.
These nominations are peer nominations in which each employee nominates other employees who have demonstrated CARE values throughout the month
Translating our CARE Values to Our Clients
In fostering an organisation-wide culture of respect, professionalism and CARE, we believe that we have built a team that provides quality client-centric and trusted advice for our clients. Independent, evidence-based assessment by research group the Beddoes Institute confirms that the CFB Advisers are amongst the top 5% in the Industry. Each Adviser here at CFB has been recognised as being a “Most Trusted Adviser”.
At CFB we value this recognition as we know that trust is not earnt at the initial interview with a client; it is developed over time and through commitment by both parties. Further, we know trust is delivered through performance demonstrated by our team CAREing; listening to the client needs and then structuring financial solutions that deliver upon these client needs.
The following clip explains why being recognised as a “Most Trusted Advisor” should at least reassure the client that our team of advisers are amongst the leading 5% in the industry. Further with the award of the Inaugural National Practice of the year in 2014 by the Association of Financial Advisers , we are confident that our common set of values enable the CFB team to provide advice and support that is client-centric, adaptive to changes, reliable and energetic through communication and support.

Abe Lincoln said that “a critical part of leadership is to preach a vision then continuously reaffirm it”, and it is this reaffirmation of client centricity and values as natural behaviours which not only develops and enriches our team, but contributes to empowerment.
